Rangpur-fect

I brought a bottle of Tanqueray Rangpur over to Dr. Raven & Benoc's pad last night. I had tried it once before in a bar, but didn't have an opportunity to experience it fully. It's a delightful gin. It's unique in its taste - infused with Rangpur limes, among other botanicals - it's quite delicious. The lime flavor makes for a fantastic gin & tonic. Tanqueray's standard gin is serviceable for a gin & tonic, but pales in comparison to Bombay Sapphire or Hendrick's for martini purposes. Rangpur takes the gin experience in a different, yet wonderful, direction. Smooth and flavorful - unfortunately it comes in a bit pricier than a bottle of Sapphire, but if you're looking for something a bit different and perhaps more approachable than other gins, Rangpur may well be the answer. I was waiting for a gin aside from Hendrick's to get my attention, and Rangpur has done it admirably.

To each his own. I don't like the lime taste in my martini, but I agree this stuff makes a great G&T.

My current favorite martini gin is Plymouth, but Hendrick's is certainly great.

@Tito - I'm inclined to agree, although I haven't tried Rangpur straight up in a martini. I don't think it would work.

Hendrick's is my current fave, with Sapphire next in line. I believe I tried Plymouth once but I've heard good things about it; I should revisit that.

Is it anything like lime infused vodkas, cause I don't like that stuff. The lime is too fake a flavor when you can get a real lime in your drink anywhere.

I heart Sapphire too though.

@M: I imagine it's similar, yes.
