Gather up ye brooms, with which thou wilt sweep this blight from our fair Fenway.

Game 2 in the first BOS-NYY series: 7-5 BOS. This was a fairly lengthy game, with both teams putting up deucers in the first two innings. The Sox opened up a lead in the 4th, with a small ball-manufactured run (Coco singled, stole second, was moved over to 3rd by Cora's sac bunt, and scampered home on Lugo's groundout to 2nd) followed up by a 2-run HR that Ortiz just wrapped around Pesky's Pole. Becks didn't have a great outing, giving up 5 over 6.2, but it was good enough. Excellent relief pitching from Benoc's neighbor and Okajima (starting to love this guy), with the Papelbot's striding in to slam the door on any MFNYY hopes of a comeback.

Here are some things I love about this season thus far:

  1. Ortizzle's burgeoning commercial career
  2. The nobacco-chewing Tito
  3. The Ultimate Bench Player: Alex "Utilities Included" Cora
  4. The Gyroball
  5. The Blogging Schilling
  6. The 'Do-rag'd Coco
  7. The tree trunks that are Tek's thighs
  8. Beckett's not throwing only straight fastballs all season long
  9. Julio "I came up from the Tampa Bay AA's" Lugo
  10. Tim "I can pitch until I'm 60 at this rate" Wakefield
  11. Hideki "Yeah, yeah, Matsuzaka this, Matsuzaka that - but I eat through pinstriped batters like they are unagi rolls" Okajima
  12. Frank from Gloucester's actually sounding dejected on WEEI
  13. Mikey Adams
  14. Bratwurst
  15. FireJoeMorgan.com
  16. Yankee callers uttering insanity like calling for Rivera's and Torre's heads
  17. Hazel Mae

Big game tonight! Join commentator Jon Miller and multiple Emmy award-winning baseball analyst Joe Morgan for an unbiased, insightful take on tonight's matchup betwen the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees! Watch as Morgan tries to break down every single pitch of Matsuzaka's without using irrelevant anecdotes, contentless baseball lingo and tired clichés!

A win tonight will make the season series 3-0. Let's do it. I am amped to watch Matsuzaka pitch tonight.
