Late Night Scenes: Hub Bias?
One of the few things that irks me about Boston - a city that I absolutely love - is the fact that the night life closes down by 2AM (if you're lucky). Every time I visit NYC I envy those nightowls who get to rage until all hours of the early morning.
However - and this past Friday brought this to light, as I found myself awake until 5AM to the tunes of the Scissor Sisters at an impromptu dance party at Club 259 - I wonder if the fact that the Boston scene shuts down early actually creates both the desire and the need for ad hoc late night scenes. Especially in the past six months or so, it seems that we have hosted various semi-random friends-of-friends-of-friends here at Club 259, as well as hanging out at the odd Charlestown apartment. The cool thing is that often times these chill late night scenes can be a lot more fun/interesting/cost-effective than having several more rounds in Bar X.
I dunno. Food for thought.
