Aural Pleasure

I love it when I'm listening to an old '70s or '80s track and something about it clicks, and all of a sudden I say to myself, "Hey! 'Black Cow' by Steely Dan is sampled in 'Déjà Vu (Uptown Baby)' by Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz!"

I was just listening to my iTunes on random, and "Straight to Hell" by The Clash came on. It sounded so familiar and then I realized: the intro riff is sampled in "Paper Planes" by M.I.A. So weird and random.

These things make me inexplicably happy. It's like solving a puzzle.

Hear for yourself: (Update: unfortunately some of these are just clips - click thru for full track)
