Geithner On Rose

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Charlie Rose:

It's an interesting interview, but Geithner doesn't come across as exactly...charismatic. My initial impression of Geithner is that he's a very smart, deliberate fiscal policy wonk. He's not going to arouse any passion or inspire as a leader - but that's not his role. He's extraordinarily cautious in his speech, which can be frustrating when one simply wants to know what the administration is going to do to try to get us out of this mess, but I can understand the degree to which his hands are tied by political and practical concerns. Geithner doesn't engender confidence of the cheerleading, "Let's beat this recession!" kind, but what appears to be a careful, measured approach to the monumental challenges we face is actually quite heartening to me.

The vid is worth a watch, but be prepared for a less-than-enthralling, although informative, hour.
