This Was the Moment
Well he did it - In what has seemed to me to be an interminable primary election, Obama clinched the number of delegates necessary for the Democratic presidential nomination tonight. And there has been, and will be, a lot of talk about how he's the first black nominee for president - and that is both remarkable and noteworthy. It's an amazing outcome of a historic race. But the real story here - the real importance - is that this is the first step toward a better United States of America.
Can't wait for his speech!
Billary had what would have been a better speech four months ago. Defiant in the face of essential defeat. She didn't concede anything, although sounded a bit like she's headed down that road: "take some time to talk to the party leaders," "do what's right for the party and the country." That kind of thing. Seems like the party bigwigs will get their hackles up over this one.
'Bama was brilliant.
Bring on November!
