Bibliophilia

There are few greater pleasures in my humble yet informed and considered opinion than reading a novel that is completely immersive. You know the one - it beckons to you while you're in the middle of more important duties; it waits for you when you get home in the evening to give it the time and attention it so deserves.

I think that Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell might just be one of these rare treats. Started it yesterday after having come across a cheap copy. 100+ pages in and I look forward to continuing the tale.

Good rec (I reckon), Foonyor.

Yar, it definitely sucked me in whole-hog, as well. The world of the story is realised in very minute detail.

I agree! I've heard lots of good things about this book, so maybe I'll have to check it out.
