Google, IP, and Freedom of Information on the Internets

An interesting article in the Weekly Standard about Google's Book Search, in which the search giant is digitally scanning millions of titles to provide users with access to literally libraries' worth of data.

Google is running into some intellectual property issues, however, as it has scanned many copyrighted works. Jonathan Last talks about both sides of the issue and what the outcome of pending cases may mean for the future of IP law. Pretty interesting stuff - especially for all you future magistrates and noblemen, I imagine.
