Santana - Supernatural?
A nice post by Eric over at Keep Your Sox On about whether or not the Sox should push for Santana or wait and see if Haren will be available. He references Eric Wilbur's post at Boston.com.
I think you can throw out their Fenway numbers - 16 innings isn't much data. His other points about Santana's trends are valid though, and interesting to consider. The fact of the matter is that Santana is a stellar pitcher and the Sox have both the prospects and the cash to get him without any real pressure. If they can make a deal including some combination of Crisp, Lester, Buchholz, and some of their top farm guys I think it would be worth it. If not, so be it. Let the Yanks sell themselves out of talent. The Sox are bringing back a championship team already for next season - Santana would be a superfluity of icing on an already heavily decorated cake.
