The MacBook Saga: The Return
The Good: My MacBook KY'd on Saturday, 4/14. DHL picked it up from my office on Wednesday, 4/18. It arrived at the Flextronics International repair center in Memphis, TN at 5:44AM on 4/19. The laptop was repaired and shipped by 6:26PM that same day. I received an email dated Thursday night at 8:25PM telling me to expect delivery within two business days. When I got home from work Friday afternoon I had a notice from FedEx saying that they had attempted to deliver a package at 2:00 that afternoon. Luckily my Mom was coming to pick me up, so she was able to take me to the main FedEx shipping facility in South Boston. So I received a fully repaired MacBook at no cost to me (thanks Apple Care!) in less than a week from its breaking, and within two business days of mailing it out. This has to be the best customer service experience I've ever had.
The Bad: As I feared, they had to replace the hard drive. So I lost everything. Back up your data.
The Grim: My bank account. My balance looks like it came from the Ugly Vault.

Stinks you lost all your stuff. Definitely need to get in the habit of backing up. I learned the hard way too. I'm looking forward to the new backup feature in Mac OS 10.5.
