G5: Boston @ Texas

Final score: 8-4, Texas

First off, let me just say that I'm so happy that Papelbon is back in the closer role. Tavarez should be a serviceable fifth starter, the results of last night's game notwithstanding.

This one looked good out of the gate, but quickly went down the toilet. Tavarez had a shaky outing, with flashes of excellent pitching marred by poor control at times. Too many walks. The bullpen relief was poor as well. The Sox' offense couldn't muster the scoring needed to overcome the deficit, despite scattering 11 hits over the course of the game.

Human interest note: This game was A) the coldest in Texas history and B) attended by everyone's favorite Army officer, Captain 45.

Series wraps up tonight. Let's not get swept, boys.

I wouldn't go so far as to say everyone's favorite.
I think it was pretty funny that when asked how the game was all he had to say was it was freezing! Um, this from the boy who wants to move to BOSTON.

It's all relative. He's getting soft down there in Gritsville, Hickstate.

No, 35 degrees is cold regardless. 80 is more humane. You can't float the river under 70.
