Thwarted
And the preemptive remedy I mentioned previously has been stymied by a combination of repeated snow plow passes outside my window, the caterwauling of obnoxious drunkards, and my mind racing through 1,000 different thoughts of varying importance.
Why is it that when I most want to go to bed it is hardest to sleep? These times are few and far between, to be sure - I've been a night owl for a long time, and generally I watch TV, read, or use the internets to exhaustion on a nightly basis. But on the rare occasions when I need to get up early, or I feel like I need to catch up on some sleep, or I need to revitalize my white blood cells, I cannot fall asleep.
So now I'm self-referentially blogging and schooling some wanker in Battle for Wesnoth. Par for the course, really.

i couldn't sleep last night either, even after taking cold meds. hope you're feeling better, i'm getting over a bitchy case of what i think was the flu and 'twas awful. i wish it on no one. will i be seeing you tonight at the crowd surfer's a.p.t.? crowd surfer! haha.
I feel pretty much the same, which is good I guess. A persistent tickle which, in my experience, inevitably turns into a cold. Hopefully a preponderance of salty, boiled beef and bland tubers will do me right.
Indeed, I shall be at the Boiled Meat & Meet '07.
Did she really go crowd surfing?
