En Why See?

I just came back from NYC by way of the FUNG WAH?!?!!?!? It was a pleasant weekend hanging out with various grim dudes, chicks who hang out with them for whatever reason, and attending Mr. Lover-Lover's Housewarming Party for the Grown & Sexy. Not sure why I was invited, as I barely fulfill the entrance criteria, but it was a sweet affair nonetheless. LL's got a nice new spot down there in Union Skritty, NJ.

As is usually the case, I had a couple great jams while in the city. On Saturday, Lopez, Mona, Hofoot and I went to a tiny Mexican joint in the Village. The food was excellent - really quality gourmet Mexican fare. We started with their fabulous fresh guacamole, and the three gents tried the soup of the day, a cream of chipotle with corn and bits of red pepper. Really delicious. I had a fantastic steak atop a bed of "Mexican lasagna," which was strips of tortilla in some kind of sauce. Very tasty.

Before I hopped on the bus today we went to a place near Union Square called Steak Frites. The service was fairly shoddy (although it was the guy's first day so I won't hold it against him), the bloody mary wasn't fantastic, and the steak was a bit tough and overcooked. But the frites were good, and I tried a few of Footer's moules frites - mussels in a white wine broth. I love me some mussels.

Now the question is what can I do over the long weekend that is fun yet not too pricey...
