DVR
I saw most of tonight's Heroes episode - first time I've watched any of the series. It seemed pretty interesting. There was a lot of stuff going on and I was pretty much lost; my roommate was slightly more knowledgeable than I, having seen the previous couple weeks' episodes. I think the show has potential, but I find it really difficult to commit to more than one or two shows a week.
Heroes is a good example of why I think I really need to get a television recording solution. I don't like to schedule my time around TV, and I actually don't watch all that much TV aside from Seinfeld and Scrubs reruns and a few quality HBO and network series (and of course the Sox once baseball starts - best show on TV, to cop a line from King). But, sometimes I like to just chill out and fire up a tube room scene. The problem with this is that there is rarely anything decent on - hence my uber-love of OnDemand. A show like Heroes is one I'd probably watch if I could do it on my own time, on my own terms.
So, yeah. DVR. The new...VCR?

wait for the first season on dvd. you've already missed 2/3rds of it.
You can watch the first and last few episodes on NBC.com. The quality isn't spectacular, but its decent. Episodes 2-10ish you can get on itunes or maybe youtube.
